Pakdaman, Iran's Sole Remaining Representative at the World Championships

Ali Pakdaman is the only remaining Iranian fencer at the World Fencing Championships. He will face an Italian opponent in his bid to advance to the Round of 32.

The World Fencing Championships, which began last Thursday in Hong Kong, will continue on Monday with the men's individual sabre knockout rounds.

Pakdaman, Iran's only representative in the Round of 64, will take on Matteo Neri of Italy, who is 27 years old.

If Pakdaman wins, he will advance to the Round of 32, where he will face the winner of the match between William Morrill of the United States and Rémi Garrigue of France.

Mohammad Fotouhi, Nima Zahedi, and Taha Kargarpour were Iran's other representatives in the World Championships, but they were eliminated before the knockout stage.

Najmeh Sazenchian, the only Iranian woman registered for the championships, was unable to participate after failing to obtain a visa.
