Iranian women's volleyball team makes history with victory over Taiwan
The Iranian women's national volleyball team defeated Chinese Taipei 3-1 in its first match at the Asian Championship to be among the 100-point teams in the world rankings for the first time in history.
The Iranian women's national volleyball team faced Chinese Taipei in the opening match of the competition, which is being held in China, today (Friday) and won 3-1, starting the tournament with a surprise for Iran.
Alireza Tolo-Kian's team lost the first set of the match 25-16, but won the next three sets with scores of 27-25, 25-19, and 25-14, respectively.
With this result, the women's national team earned 8.87 points in the World Federation rankings, ranking 41st in the world for the first time in history with 104.47 points.
