This image belongs to a unique pottery vessel from Rudbar, which is about three thousand years old. This amazing work is made in the form of a combination of a human, an animal and several vessel compartments and is an excellent example of the creativity and imagination of ancient Iranian potters. Its general form is reminiscent of a caravan or a vehicle for transporting liquids, in which a statue of a human is seen at the end and the head of an animal is seen in the front.
In addition to their everyday function, such works often had a ritual and symbolic function in ancient Iranian cultures. The use of several compartments in a vessel reflects the advanced technical knowledge and design of the potters of that period. This work is now kept in the National Museum of Iran and is considered one of the rare examples of volumetric and sculptural pottery that displays a vivid image of the art and life of the people of the Iranian plateau.
