Mithridates II Silver Coin

Mithridates II, one of the greatest and most powerful kings of Iran during the Parthian period, ruled from 123 to 88 BCE (approximately 2,100 years ago). Known by the title “the Great,” he played a crucial role in expanding and consolidating Iran’s power and succeeded in reclaiming vast territories that had been lost during the reigns of earlier kings. Mithridates II strengthened the position of the Iranian Empire against both internal and external enemies and established important diplomatic relations with neighboring empires, including Rome. His reign is considered one of the peak periods of Iranian power and influence in the Middle East.
