The development of tourism cooperation between Iran and Armenia requires expanded tourism exchanges and the implementation of joint tours, an official from East Azerbaijan Province’s Department of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts said.
The deputy tourism director of the department described the expansion of tourism exchanges between the two countries as an important necessity for strengthening bilateral tourism ties. He also stressed the need to organise joint tour programmes aimed at introducing the historical, cultural and natural attractions of both Iran and Armenia.
He said closer cooperation between tourism authorities, travel agencies and tour operators could help increase the number of visitors travelling between the two countries and create new opportunities for the tourism industry.
The official added that joint tourism initiatives could also contribute to greater cultural interaction between the Iranian and Armenian peoples while supporting local businesses and tourism-related sectors.
He emphasised that expanding tourism exchanges and developing joint tour packages should be pursued as part of broader efforts to strengthen cooperation between Iran and Armenia in the field of tourism.
